Course Description

Supported Learning Standards are intended for students at Year 11 or above who require some form of support with their learning either through additional resources, specialised equipment or adapted teaching programmes. These students with learning disabilities, also include those with an intellectual disability.
Students will work towards achieving the New Zealand Certificate in Skills for Living for Supported Learners (Level 1) 55 credits.
The programme is designed to support learners to self-manage and participate in social, cultural, family/whānau and community contexts to improve their educational or employment pathways, and to assist them to become productive citizens of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Consideration will be given by Mrs Southward: Learning Support who will approve enrolment on a case-by-case basis.
Students completing this course will have the support of a teacher aide to act as the supervisor for the assessments.
Recommended Prior Learning
NCEA Level 1, reliable, with good attendance, able to work independently and work ready.
