This course provides students with practical skills and knowledge to confidently manage everyday life situations and prepare for the transition from school to adulthood. Topics covered throughout the year include:

  • Personal Finance: Learn about banking products and services, understand insurance as a financial risk management strategy, and explore legal rights and obligations when living in rented accommodation.

  • Vehicle Knowledge: Understand basic light motor vehicle systems, components, and the legal requirements of vehicle ownership and operation.

  • Workplace Readiness: Gain knowledge of workplace health and safety, practise time management skills, and complete a work experience placement to build confidence for future employment.

  • Planning for the Future: Produce a personal plan for future pathways and develop the skills to complete complex forms accurately.

This course is ideal for students who want to gain practical life skills and prepare for employment, training, or independent living after school.
