L3 Health (L3HEA)
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mrs M. Franklin.
Students will evaluate and analysis issues related to Hauora. Students will look at current New Zealand health practices and ethics around some public concerning health issues as well as analysis health issues in New Zealand and internationally. This may involving investigating drug use, addiction and other mental health issues, discrimination (both gender and sexuality), causes of the prevalence of diseases, and practices around immunisations or sexual health.
Recommended Prior Learning
10 credits L2 Health is an advantage, however entry is open to students who have achieved 10 credits in L2 English
Pathway
This course would be an excellent choice for any student who wants to work in the Health Sector and or work in any roll that involves looking after others. Nurse, Physiotherapist, Social Worker, Doctor, Sports Medicine, Therapist, Pharmacist, Medical technician, Paramedic, and Medical assistant.
