Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Miss P. Nepe Apatu.
To further develop an awareness and understanding of Te Reo Māori and Tikanga Māori within contemporary and expanded contexts relevant to rangatahi and their developing Māori worldview.
Students will focus on further developing their skills in the areas of Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening Comprehension within in the following learning contexts;
- Ngā Whāinga – Future Aspirations
- Ngā Tikanga o ngā Tīpuna – Traditional Māori Customs and Practices
- Ngā Mahi Rangatira ā ngā Tīpuna – The chiefly deeds of our Ancestors
- Karakia – Traditional Prayer, Ngā Uara Māori – Māori Values and Practices
Recommended Prior Learning
Level 1 Te Reo Maori or after consultation with the teacher
