Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs K. Keir.

Learners will investigate and explore their world and their place in it. We have a strong focus on local context, mātauranga Māori and students' own cultural identity. 

Year 11 Visual Arts course is designed to explore a range of techniques and disciplines within Drawing, Painting, Sculpture & Printmaking establishing a basis from which students can specialize from Year 12 onwards.

Recommended Prior Learning

Learners must be prepared to keep up with all tasks. This course caters to both academic and non-academic students, however good time management skills and an ability to think creatively are essential. This course is a pre-requisite to NCEA Level 2 Painting/Sculpture.
