L2 Sports Science.

L3 Sports Science is for students who want to get the best marks possible!  Students must be willing to give their best to practical & theory!  There is an optional extension trip to the Rotorua Xterra, which is not an official part of the course. 

All students are expected to train for & participate in the school triathlon as an individual.

All students are expected to participate in the school Cross Country and play in a school sports team.

This course has been fine tuned for several years and it offers a great variety of activities.  It has been featured in the New Zealand Education Gazette & students traditionally get very good marks well above National averages!

We are very pleased to offer a course where students get such amazing marks!

Please note that this course can be taken in conjunction with OEE.

Course Overview

Term 1
Very practical term! 3 practical & 1 theory per week. Great term to get fit! Applying strategies to reach a goal.
Knowledge areas - biophysical & sociocultural.
School triathlon.
Extension trip to Xterra Rotorua.

Term 2
During term 2 students will evaluate the programme they completed in term 1 & begin participating in some 'Fitness Crazes'.

Term 3
Participating in 'Fitness Crazes' & researching their impact on NZ Society.
Students will also demonstrate performance in their chosen sport.

Term 4
Assessment tidy up time!
