Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr Fraser


This course is designed for highly motivated students who are aiming for excellence in everything they do! It is a mixture of practical & theory. Students are expected to be in a school sports team to support their performance AS. Upon being accepted into this course all students must agree to attempt all assessment opportunities both theory and practical. All students are expected to participate in the school Cross Country (XC). If students do the XC they will also be given the option to improve this mark by using their own sport. 

Successful students may qualify for L3 Sports Science.




Course Overview

Term 1
Students will participate in a Social Responsibility Model with a practical component through team building & leadership. There is an optional extension camp that will be available but is not part of the course.

Term 2
Skill Learning / Biophysical. Students pick a skill, work on it & discuss ways of getting better.

Term 3
Coaching / Leadership. Student will demonstrate these skills at a local primary school.

Term 4
Assessment completion / tidy up. No Exams!

Please note that students can select Outdoor Education Environment concurrently with this course.

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

Costs for HB Tuff Guy / Girl Challenge & Camp Mohaka (2 night 2 day camp at Glen Falls Camp Mohaka River).
