TE REO MAORI ME ŌNĀ TIKANGA (10MAO) (Full Year)
This is a full year course which will develop an understanding of Te Reo Māori, Cultural Customs and Traditional Activities.
It is designed to provide a range of uniquely Māori experiences inside and outside of the classroom. It is also designed to prepare students for NCEA Level 1 Te Reo Māori. During the course of the year students will learn;
•Te Reo Māori within familiar contexts.
•Māori Customs / Tikanga,
•Karakia and Waiata.
•Traditional Stories from the local area and nationally.
•Traditional Pastime Games and Activities ie. Waka Ama and Ki o rahi.
• Traditional and Contemporary food gathering and preparation methods.
